REGISTRATION and the Coat Room are on the 27th Floor along with many of the sessions. The Children’s Program, Lunch Room, Limmud Café and rooms E1, G3 and G4 are on the 16th Floor. There is easy access between the floors by 6 large elevators.

Canada has had a strong effect on Human Rights globally since WWII. There is a strong but neglected history of Jewish contributions towards the adoption and interpretation of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Hear how our Canadian Charter has had a strong influence on the development of rights protection in Israel.

Lorraine Weinrib

Lorraine Weinrib is a professor in the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto, specializing in Canadian and comparative constitutional law and the post-WWII development of constitutional rights-protection. Her publications include articles on the Jewish contribution to rights-protection in Canada and the influence of the Canadian Charter of RIghts and Freedoms, 1982 on rights-protection in Israel.
