Aurora Mendelsohn
Aurora Mendelsohn earned a PhD in cognitive psychology and currently works in institutional research at the University of Toronto. She has written about the intersection of Jewish ritual and liturgy, feminism and parenting for more than a decade (in the Toronto Star, the Forward, Sh'ma, and Lilth) and blogs at RainbowTallitBaby. She is a cofounder of Hagbah, a discussion group for observant, progressive, feminist Jews. Her connection with Jewish education spans 25 years, beginning with directing Jewish programming at camp for children with developmental disabilities and has included serving on the board of Paul Penna Downtown Jewish Day School. She lives downtown Toronto with her husband and their three children.
