Jonathan Rotsztain
Jonathan Rotsztain is an artist, writer and graphic designer based in Toronto and one half of ALLCAPSdesign.com. He recently earned his MFA from the Center for Cartoon Studies in Vermont. Rotsztain has produced a one-page journal comic DrearyDiary.com, daily since 2013. He is currently collaborating with playwright Michael Rubenfeld on a graphic novel, entitled Motherland, which tells Rubenfeld's autobiographical story of healing Polish-Jewish relations. Motherland debuted in English at the 2015 Toronto Comic Arts Festival and in Polish at the 2015 Krakow Jewish Culture Festival. He is also publishing the serialized comic strip Self-Loving Jew on the Koffler Centre of the Arts koffler.digital platform. In these short, visual essays, Self-Loving Jew defines and embraces a robust contemporary secular Jewish identity.
